Cookies policy
This policy explains small browser technologies used by Nenova. Cookies and similar storage can remember a setting, support a session, or help us understand broad page use. They do not change the educational nature of the site and are not used to diagnose health conditions.
1. Essential choice storage
The site stores a local browser value called cookieChoice when a visitor selects Accept or Reject in the cookie banner. Its purpose is to prevent the banner from appearing on every page. It contains only the choice word and is normally retained until the visitor clears local site data. It is not a login token and is not sold or shared.
2. Session controls
Technical session controls may be used temporarily when a form or hosting layer needs them. A session value normally ends when the browsing session ends, although infrastructure can retain a short security record for up to 30 days. These controls support operation rather than behavioural advertising.
3. Optional analytics
If optional analytics are enabled in a future release, the provider, cookie names, purpose, retention, and regional transfer information will be identified in this page before activation. Analytics will be configured to minimise personal information and will not be used to infer medical conditions. Rejecting optional cookies will not block ordinary reading.
4. Preferences
A preference cookie may remember a display or accessibility selection when that feature exists. Preference storage is normally retained for 12 months or until cleared. The setting is connected to a browser rather than a named person. It may need to be selected again on another device.
5. Advertising
Nenova does not place behavioural advertising cookies as part of the ordinary editorial experience. If a commercial partner requires a separate technology, it will be reviewed, labelled, and disclosed before use. We will not accept a technology that quietly tracks sensitive wellness interests without a lawful basis and an understandable choice.
6. Third parties
Embedded services can set their own cookies when a reader chooses to interact with them. A linked provider may collect information under its own policy. Nenova cannot control a third party's storage, so readers should review the destination and browser controls before interacting.
7. Browser controls
Most browsers allow cookies to be blocked, deleted, or restricted by site. Blocking essential storage may mean the choice banner returns, and some forms or preferences may not behave as expected. Browser help pages explain the exact steps for the device and version in use.
8. Mobile devices
Mobile browsers and in-app browsers can handle cookies differently. Clearing browser data may remove the saved cookieChoice value. Nenova does not use a mobile advertising identifier for ordinary editorial reading. Any future mobile integration will receive a separate notice where required.
9. Legal basis
Essential storage is used because it supports a requested site function. Optional measurement or preference storage is based on consent where required. A person may reject optional technologies without losing access to public articles. Consent can be changed by clearing site data and revisiting the banner when it appears.
10. Retention
cookieChoice remains until deletion, session controls normally expire at session end, and optional tools will have the lifespans stated at activation. Security logs may remain for up to 30 days. We review technology settings at least annually and sooner after a material vendor or legal change.
11. Do-not-track
Browser signals vary and are not always technically consistent. Nenova responds to the cookie banner choice and applicable legal requirements. We do not treat a lack of a recognised signal as permission for optional tracking where consent is required.
12. Children
The site is written for adults. We do not knowingly use cookies to build profiles of children. A parent or guardian who has a concern can contact the desk, and we will investigate the relevant browser or embedded service without asking for unnecessary personal details.
13. Updates
This version is effective 12 October 2026. The previous review on 1 April 2026 covered only essential choice storage. We will update the date and describe material changes if an analytics, advertising, or preference technology is introduced.
14. Questions
Cookie questions can be sent through contact.php, by phone at +62 21 5289 7416, or by post to Jl. Merdeka Raya No. 45, Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, Jakarta 10350, Indonesia. Please include the device and browser only if it helps us reproduce a technical issue.
CookieChoice is a first-party preference value rather than an account credential. It records a visitor's banner choice, has no advertising identifier, and is not combined with a newsletter address by Nenova. If a visitor uses a different browser, device, private window, or cleared profile, the banner may appear again because the preference is not designed to identify a person across devices.
Where a temporary session value is needed, it is used to connect related requests during a limited visit or to help a hosting layer detect unusual traffic. Such a value should not contain the contents of a contact message. Operational security records associated with a session may remain for up to 30 days before rotation, subject to backups and a documented incident investigation.
Optional measurement will remain disabled until a relevant choice has been provided where the applicable law requires it. If enabled, a conservative configuration may use a first-party analytics identifier with a short-lived session value, an aggregate page view record, and a preference record lasting no more than 13 months. Exact names and lifespans will be listed before activation; a provider may be changed when the page is updated.
Readers can clear cookies through browser settings, delete site data, use a private browsing window, or change the cookie banner choice where that control is available. Blocking essential storage may cause the banner or a display preference to return, but ordinary article reading should remain available. Browser-level signals are respected where the site can technically identify and apply them reliably.
Third-party content can set its own storage only after a reader chooses to interact with that content, such as opening an embedded service or following a link. Nenova does not treat a third-party cookie notice as its own notice. The third party is responsible for explaining its names, purposes, transfers, and retention periods.
Questions about cookies can be sent to Nenova, Jl. Merdeka Raya No. 45, Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, Jakarta 10350, Indonesia, phone +62 21 5289 7416. We aim to acknowledge a request within five business days and answer within 30 days. This policy was reviewed on 12 October 2026; a material change will be recorded with a new date and a description of the affected storage.
Cookie settings are applied to the browser and device from which a choice is made. They are not a sign-in system and are not intended to identify a person across unrelated devices. Clearing site data, changing browsers, or using a private window can cause the choice prompt to appear again because the previous preference is no longer available.
Essential storage may include a first-party value such as CookieChoice, used to remember whether a visitor accepted, declined, or postponed optional measurement. It may remain for up to 180 days and contains a preference state rather than the text of a contact message. A short session value may expire when the browsing session ends or within 24 hours if the hosting layer needs a bounded validity period.
If optional analytics is enabled after an appropriate choice, a provider may receive a broad page path, referrer category, approximate timing, device type, and truncated or aggregated network information. Such measurements are used to understand publication reach, not to infer a personal health profile. Analytics records may be retained for up to 13 months, with security logs generally rotated within 30 days.
Some hosting, form, email, analytics, or security vendors may process technical data outside Indonesia. Nenova expects those vendors to use contractual safeguards, access controls, limited retention, and deletion support. A visitor who follows an external link or activates third-party content is then also subject to that provider's storage notice and transfer practices.
To ask about a cookie, request clarification, or report an unexpected storage behavior, contact Nenova at Jl. Merdeka Raya No. 45, Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, Jakarta 10350, Indonesia, phone +62 21 5289 7416. We aim to acknowledge the request within five business days and respond within 30 days. This policy was reviewed on 12 October 2026 and material changes will be dated.
