Editorial policy — 2026

How Nenova makes editorial decisions

Nenova is an independent wellness publication based in Central Jakarta. This policy explains our approach to commissioning, research, personal stories, health claims, commercial relationships, corrections, and reader feedback. It is designed to help readers understand what an article is and what it is not.

1. Mission

We publish clear, culturally aware information about natural wellness for men aged 30 and above. Our work supports reflection and better questions rather than urgency, fear, or product dependence.

2. Commissioning

Editors choose topics for reader usefulness, seasonal relevance, unanswered questions, and the quality of available evidence. Commercial interest does not determine whether a health topic is published. Writers receive a brief that states audience, scope, and safety boundaries.

3. Sources

We prefer primary research, public health institutions, professional bodies, and reputable reference works. Sources are assessed for date, method, relevance, and limitations. A source may inform an article without being presented as proof of an individual outcome.

4. Review

Articles are edited for structure, plain language, unnecessary certainty, and responsible calls to professional care. Specialist review may be requested when a topic involves clinical interpretation or meaningful safety risk. Review does not turn general content into personal advice.

5. Personal stories

Personal experience is labelled and does not stand in for evidence. We seek permission, protect identifying details where appropriate, and avoid editing a story into a promise. A contributor can raise concerns about accuracy or context before publication.

6. Health claims

We do not publish guaranteed outcomes, cure claims, miracle language, shame-based persuasion, or unsupported urgency. Articles should acknowledge variation and explain when a qualified professional is appropriate. Product references must not imply that purchase is necessary.

7. Conflicts

Contributors disclose relevant employment, ownership, consulting, funding, and personal relationships. Editors decide whether a conflict can be managed through disclosure, reassignment, or non-publication. A conflict is not automatically wrongdoing, but hidden influence is unacceptable.

8. Advertising

Advertising is visually and verbally separated from editorial material. Advertisers cannot approve independent conclusions or require a health promise. Sponsored content, if accepted, is labelled and reviewed under a written agreement that protects editorial disclosure.

9. Corrections

Readers can report a factual, sourcing, accessibility, or safety issue through contact.php. Editors assess the report, correct material errors, and add a note when a change affects meaning. A correction is not hidden because it is inconvenient.

10. Headlines and images

Headlines should accurately represent the article and avoid click-driven fear. Images are selected for relevance and described with useful alternative text. We do not use a dramatic image to imply a medical outcome the article does not support.

11. Reader comments

Nenova does not operate an open comment stream on every page. Messages are moderated for privacy, harassment, unlawful content, personal medical details, and unsafe claims. A message may be edited or declined without changing the reader's right to contact us.

12. Change log

This policy took effect on 12 October 2026. The 1 April 2026 review clarified contributor disclosures and source handling. Future changes will be dated and described. Questions can be sent to Jl. Merdeka Raya No. 45, Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, Jakarta 10350, Indonesia, or +62 21 5289 7416.

Our scope includes articles, guides, newsletters, interviews, visual captions, headlines, search descriptions, and corrections. A short format does not remove the need for context; when space is limited, editors should link to a fuller explanation or make the limitation visible. We do not present a publication date as evidence that a source remains current.

Sources are recorded in the working brief with the title, publisher, date, relevant passage, and a note about limitations where practical. For time-sensitive material, editors check whether the source has been withdrawn, superseded, or materially updated. Readers may ask for the source trail for a published claim, subject to copyright, privacy, and safety considerations.

Commercial relationships are disclosed to the editorial team and separated from independent commissioning decisions. A sponsor may review factual descriptions of its own service, but it may not require omission of a material limitation or a particular conclusion. Paid material is labelled according to the advertising policy and is not presented as independent reporting.

Corrections are made when a material factual error, misleading omission, attribution problem, or broken source affects a reader's understanding. Minor spelling or formatting changes may not receive a separate note. A correction record should state what changed and the date it changed, without quietly rewriting the history of a significant error.

Readers can report an issue to Nenova at Jl. Merdeka Raya No. 45, Gondangdia, Central Jakarta, Jakarta 10350, Indonesia, phone +62 21 5289 7416. We aim to acknowledge editorial correspondence within five business days, assess a factual concern within 15 business days, and provide a response within 30 days when a longer source review is required.

This policy was reviewed on 12 October 2026. A change record is maintained for material revisions, including the date, affected principle, and reason for the revision. Editorial standards do not replace applicable law, professional guidance, or a reader's responsibility to evaluate information carefully.

The policy applies to staff, regular contributors, guest writers, editors, photographers, illustrators, newsletter writers, and anyone preparing public-facing material under the Nenova name. A contributor may have a different professional background, but the same standards for sourcing, disclosure, respectful language, and correction apply. Personal experience is treated as context rather than proof of a general conclusion.

Editorial records may include commissioning notes, source links, interview consent, image permissions, correction decisions, and commercial disclosures. Access is limited to the people who need it for editing, legal review, security, or publication administration. Ordinary working records are generally retained for up to 24 months after publication, while a significant correction record may be retained longer to preserve an accurate history.

Editors assess health-related wording conservatively and avoid turning uncertainty into a promise. Where a claim could affect a reader's decision, the article should identify its source, limits, date, and the distinction between general information and personal guidance. Readers may request clarification or a source trail at the contact address without needing to disclose private circumstances.

Commercial partners, analytics vendors, hosting providers, and email services may process limited technical or contact information under separate contractual and privacy controls. Commercial support does not grant access to unpublished reader correspondence or allow an advertiser to change an independent conclusion. International processing, if required by a service provider, is reviewed for access restriction and transfer safeguards.

Editorial concerns are acknowledged within five business days. A factual complaint is normally assessed within 15 business days, and a complex source review receives an update within 30 days. This policy was reviewed on 12 October 2026. Material updates are dated and recorded with the affected principle and reason for change. The change record does not replace the article's own correction notice, publication date, or source information.
